Pulpitis is an inflammation of the inside of the tooth that develops due to untreated deep caries, tooth trauma or periodontitis.
The acute stage of pulpitis quickly develops into the chronic stage. The pain goes away, creating the illusion of recovery. Meanwhile, the inflammatory process affects the roots and canals of the tooth.
